Hideo Kojima is making a PlayStation 4 exclusive for Sony

Thought the story of Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami was a little light on drama? Well, get this: the Metal Gear Solid auteur’s first title as an independent developer will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Announcing its partnership with the newly formed Kojima Productions, Sony Computer Entertainment confirmed the title will be the first in an original franchise. So far, only this initial title has been confirmed as a PS4 exclusive.

Further details about Kojima’s follow up to the well-received Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain weren’t forthcoming. Tweeting separately to the announcement, Kojima confirmed his contract with Konami was terminated on December 15th.
