Lovefilm interrogates Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy director – live

Lovefilm subscribers can watch Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy with a live commentary and Q&A from director Tomas Alfredson

You don’t have to go digging in an MI5 records room to unearth the secrets of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy – Lovefilm is declassifying the film’s mysteries with a live-streamed online director’s commentary.

If you’re a Lovefilm subscriber, you can tune in on Monday, July 2 for an online Q&A with the film’s director Tomas Alfredson and screenwriter Peter Straughan. You’ll need to emerge from your Cold War bunker at 2000h and head over to Lovefilm’s chatroom with your membership in hand.

During the evening, you can find out how Straughan adapted John Le Carré’s awesome spy thriller and how Alfredson conjured up the grimy world of 1970s espionage with the help of stars Gary Oldman, Colin Firth and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Plus you can watch along at home with Alfredson and Straughan in a split-screen window on the Lovefilm website, with real-time commentary from the pair – unearthing the film’s mysteries as George Smiley attempts to uncover the mole within “the Circus.”

Just don’t forget to sign the Official Secrets Act first.
