Praise be for companies like Elgato, because Mac heads would be screwed without them. The German outfit that brought you such hits as the EyeTV (Freeview telly recording for Macs) and EyeHome (iLife streaming to your TV), has brewed up EyeConnect, a media-streaming Mac app that’ll work with any Philips Streamium. If you’re new to the whole Philips networking thing, we recommend you check out the Streamium TV (the 23PF9946) and the Streamium home cinema system (the MX6000i). Both look good and have nice, easy interfaces – the only downside is that the TV’s a bit overpriced at £1400.EyeConnect should also work with any Universal Plug ‘n’ Play streaming devices that appear in the future, though we’re guessing the Xbox 360 won’t be one of them.
