Judging by the warnings of dire consequences from leaving even a windscreen sucker mark on view in your motor, we’d say sat-nav theft was a bit of a problem.But, as ever, technology has the answer. Medion’s fitted its latest GoPal P4425 (pictured) with fingerprint recognition. Swipe anything but a recognised digit over its 4.3in widescreen and it’ll resort to useless doorstop mode – an eminently less nickable item.Once in, the certified owner will find a tidy wishlist of features including European maps, Bluetooth handsfree, an FM transmitter for piping calls and directions through the radio and free TMC traffic updates.Like Magellan’s new Meastro 4245, the P4425 also has voice recognition for handsfree use and has also snatched its ‘thinnest sat-nav’ crown, shaving 0.8mm off its rival’s 17.8mm body.If money’s tight, there’s also the 3.5in E3410, which bulks out to a still modest 21mm but loses the FM transmitter and fingerprint recognition sensor.
