Philips GoGear Connect Android media player unleashed

The Dutch are jumping the gun on IFA, sliding out details of their new MP3 player, the Philips Go Gear Connect

Philips has blown away any doubt about its IFA plans today with the casual announcement of an Android media player, the GoGear Connect.

The 3.2in touchscreen player claims to offer “the full Android experience,” including unfettered access to apps in the Android Market. There’s a built-in camera, microSD support and – presumably – an accelerometer and compass to qualify for the bona fide Google app store.

So far, we’re working off a blog post on Philips’ site, but we’ll be catching up with them, and all their new kit, at IFA this week. Stay tuned…
