Samsung 11.8in tablet aims to match iPad’s Retina Display

If nothing else good comes out of the Samsung versus Apple legal battle, at least we’ll get a high resolution Sammy slate

As the legal battle between Apple and Samsung escalates, information from the courthouse has revealed Sammy’s plans to release an 11.8in tablet with a 2560×1600 resolution display. That’s a Retina Display-matching pixel density of 256ppi. The slate’s display is codenamed P10 – as opposed to Retina Display 2.0, we presume.

More tablets sporting Retina Display-quality screens is good news for us punters – it’ll drive down the price for high resolution displays, assuming Apple doesn’t have the device banned all over the world before Samsung gets a chance to unveil it.

Here’s hoping that this cropping up now in court means the P10 display will be finding its way onto Samsung tablets in the not too distant future.
