We7 has had its iPhone application approved for the App Store, sending it shooting into direct competition with fellow streaming-service Spotify.
Although the app is available for download now, the service will actually kick off on Monday 1 March, and for the £9.99 per month subscription fee, it will offer an almost identical list of features to its rival.
This means unlimited streaming of tracks from We7’s catalogue of 4 million tracks (compared to Spotify’s 6m) on your PC and phone, no ads, and offline playlists too.
We7 has promised apps for other phones are on their way, but offered no timescale as to when we can expect them.
In the meantime, non-iPhone users can take advantage of an option Spotify doesn’t offer, with a £5 per month subscription just to remove the ads from your PC version.
Would you pay it or don’t you mind putting up with ads for free? Will you be going premium when the app lands on Monday? Check out what we thought to Spotify’s offering and let us know below.
