Nintendo’s game download service, WiiWare, finally burst onto the scene in Japan today, bang on cue.
Their alternative to Xbox Live Arcade, it’s due to make its US debut on 12 May, but as yet there’s no news about the launch of the less snappily titled European version – Wii Software.
Not too heavy on the pocket, WiiWare games cost between 500 and 1500 points, or £3.50 to £10 in proper cash money. Topping the bill are Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (1500 points), Pokémon Ranch (1000 points) and Star Soldier R (800 points).
Hopefully they’ll hurry along a Euro launch date for Wii Software, as well as the Virtual Console Master System. Rest assured we’re badgering Nintendo constantly.
In the meantime we’ll have to make do with Nintendo’s recent bonanza of new releases.
