Facebook’s Paper app is a great way to celebrate its 10th Birthday

The social network giant has pretty slick app to go along with its double-digit candles

Facebook’s new Paper hit the App Store yesterday, and it’s a fitting way for the hulking social network behemoth to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The first creation to come out of Facebook Creative Labs, Paper is a free Flipboard-style app which pulls in content from both your News Feed and well known sources for news, technology, sports and plenty more.

The app itself looks very slick and is entirely controlled with gestures which promise to offer a silky smooth navigation experience once you’ve gotten used to them.

We particularly like the ability to pan around large photos by simply tilting an iPhone, and Facebook has assigned a team of editors to ensure that the best and most popular online content is visible.

Sadly, Facebook confirmed to Pocket Lint that Paper won’t be landing on the iPad or Android devices.

It’s also only available for US users at this time too, but we expect many of the more popular Paper features to integrate themselves into Facebook’s existing apps.

If you do live outside the US then you can still try out Paper on your iPhone, but you’ll have to create a new iTunes account from scratch and specify that you live in the US to do so.
