Free download of the week – Jetstream by Doves

It’s been four years since Doves last unleashed some new material. But praise be, the band with a penchant for strikingly consistent albums, an extreme attention to detail and looking like they’ve just woken up in a dumpster are back.

You can nab new track Jetstream, from their forthcoming LP Kingdom of Rust, now over on their official site, for zero pence. A good deal for a snowy morning we reckon.

Channeling their more electronic side, the track is pleasingly understated at the get go, relying on synths and drum machines before the guitars and drums finally kick in over half way through. As ever with Doves, the song structure’s bonkers, but repeated listening will make you realise what a great tune this really is.
