Samsung is readying the Galaxy Tab 5
The tablet has appeared on certification body TENAA's site, pretty much confirming its existence
Samsung’s next tablet looks like it’ll be the Tab 5 – at least that’s the name of a new tablet that has appeared on the web page of Chinese certification body TENAA.
Two similarly-specced Tab 5 devices have showed up on the TENAA page. The slates reportedly come with 8in screens, with a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. Besides that, there’s a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage rounding up the hardware list.
Not exactly the same
How do they differ? Obviously there are the model numbers, but there’s more to it than that. The SM-P355C, for one, is a little heavier than the SM-T355C. What could that signal? A larger battery, perhaps? A 4G antenna? Both seem to come with two cameras, 5MP at the rear and a front-facing 2MP. Likely both will also have an S Pen stylus, though that bit’s a rumour and not confirmed by the TENAA page.
The certification means the device is real, but as to pricing, release and more details about the features – we don’t have a clue just yet. We’re betting it won’t be released too soon considering the Tab 10 and Tab 4 both just got hardware upgrades.
