BBC iPlayer finally plays nice with Apple TV

It’s about time

We can’t believe it’s taken this long for the BBC iPlayer to land on the updated Apple TV, but the day has finally come.

Various users reported seeing the Beeb’s on-demand app pop up on their Apple TV units over the weekend, providing access to 30 days’ worth of programming, as well as live streams of all of the BBC’s channels.

The iPlayer app has been available on rivals like the Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Chromecast devices for quite some time now, and its absence could very well have been an Apple TV deal-breaker for many, given the BBC’s impressive catalogue of shows.

Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to relax to the comfortably soothing warbling of David Attenborough’s spectacular voice.
