Lego’s life-sized Black Panther bust arrives just ahead of the upcoming MCU sequel
King T’Challa will need a shelf all to himself
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the only MCU movie still to come out this year and will mark the end of Phase 4 (if you haven’t yet watched the astonishingly good trailer, do yourself a favour after you’re done here), but Lego fans won’t have to wait until the film hits cinemas in November to reacquaint themselves with one of Marvel’s most iconic heroes.
Arriving on October 1 and coming in at a rather terrifying £300, the Lego Marvel Black Panther set is a 2,961-piece tribute to King T’Challa, which is actually inspired by the comic book character’s first big-screen outing back in 2018, where he was played by the late Chadwick Boseman. The film instantly became a Marvel classic and is still held up as one of the studio’s best efforts.
The apparently life-sized bust features removable hands, allowing you to display Black Panther doing his trademark cross-armed “Wakanda Forever” hand sign, or as just the helmet and torso. Why anyone would want to lose the hands is a mystery to us, but the option is there.
Lego has a habit of timing new product releases to more or less line up with the MCU’s output. Earlier this year it launched the I Am Groot set, just a few months before the Disney+ show of the same name hit the streamer, and it was a similar story with the brickified Thor’s Hammer.
