Asus Transformer Prime release date pegged for December
We'll get our hands on the world's first quad-core tablet eventually
First Asus teases us with a purported January release date for its quad-core powerhouse and sequel to the Transformer. Then, its release date was pegged for November 9. Now it would seem Android fans may have to continue fidgeting impatiently while waiting to get finger-friendly with Asus’ latest hybrid device as that date looks like it’s been pushed back to December 9.
We know the Prime is currently up for pre-order in the US, but those intrepid web hikers over at Engadget have spotted a new pre-order page on Newegg, which has the US$500 Prime pegged for a December 8 release date.
While this is good news for those drooling over the mere prospect of its quad-core superpowers, all these contradicting release dates, and not even so much as a hint towards UK pricing, means we’re forced to treat this information cautiously. But one thing’s certain – we’re getting closer and closer to this mighty and highy coveted machine.
Arriving with Gingerbread, the Transformer Prime will come complete with Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad-core Kal-El processor, a USB port and a 10.1in screen into a sleek, supermodel-thin 8.3mm body. The confirmed Ice cream Sandwich update is simply the cherry atop this quad-core flavoured cake.
