The BeoPlay A2 goes on Active duty
Classy Bluetooth speaker dons water-resistant fatigues
Wait… This looks exactly the same as the BeoPlay A2.
Haven’t you ever been told that first impressions are misleading? The BeoPlay A2 Active may look the same as the A2 speaker from Bang & Olufsen’s BeoPlay range, but it has some subtle differences. This includes being dust and splash resistant, coming in two new colours, and bearing a new ‘NATO’ style strap design.
Splash resistant and new colours? Revolutionary!
If Apple did the same thing, we bet you wouldn’t be complaining. But these minor changes are more significant than you’d think. Whether you’re going on a ski trip, or visiting the Australian beaches to avoid the British winter, you’ll need a speaker that isn’t afraid of a bit of water.
The militaristic canvas straps are as rugged as they are chic, so you can bet your nelly they’ll endure your all-inclusive package holiday. Plus, we think both new colours – Natural and Stone Grey – look ace. If you were to push us for a decision, Stone Grey. All of this, and you don’t have to pay a dime more than the A2’s price at £299.
I know this. I bought an A2. Any reason to get this Active too?
Why, because two is better than one. With the BeoPlay app, you can pair two of the speakers for a stereo experience big enough to fill larger rooms and smaller pool parties. The Active still has the same all-night-long 12-hour battery, but now has a faster charging – and totally hip – USB-C connector.
