It doesn’t seem five minutes since the super-zooming V7 and lithe Z1050 were in here, wet behind the ears, lining up with the rest of the new gear to be reviewed – those eager young pups. But now they’re stale as old fish because their shiny new replacements have arrived. So it’s out with the 7MP V7 and in with the 8MP V8 (pictured), which looks strikingly similar, with the same shoehorned 7x zoom lens in an identical 26mm wide body. Appearances can be deceptive, though, because it also now gets Casio’s YouTube function for quickly shooting and uploading videos. Also getting the YouTube treatment is the new 10.1MP Z1080 which also packs a super high 6400 ISO for low light shots. Otherwise all looks to be pretty similar to the 10.1MP mZ1050, right down to the ‘BS’ button (stop sniggering at the back) on the rear (we said stop sniggering) to call up the Best Shot mode.No mention of when we’ll see them or how much they’ll cost but we can’t see these taking too long to knock out.
