Looky what we have here – a desktop replacement from Brit PC-makers Evesham that doesn’t need to convert, Transformer-style, into a suitcase just to hulk it around.Freshly installed with Intel’s new 2.2GHz T7500 Centrino Duo processor, the Zieo N500-HD manages 2GB memory, 160GB hard drive, 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth, HDMI and a built-in digital TV tuner all in a meaty yet, er, neaty 17in caseAs if that wasn’t enough there’s a gig of what Intel calls ‘Turbo Memory’ (flash memory to you and us), which it reckons can cut down on 20 per cent of thumb twiddling during startup and 50 per cent when loading frequently used apps.Sadly there’s no Blu-ray or HD DVD drive in there, but watching downloaded HD video is no problem thanks to the Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT safely tucked inside. With 512MB on-board it should make light work of the Lord of the Rings game in all its 1680 x 1050 Hobbity glory. All this for a grand or so Sterling. Makes you proud to be British, don’t it?
