The LaCie Little Big Disk Quadra 1TB is a regular little tardis. It crams in two 2.5inch hard disks to give you a whopping one Terabyte of storage. Best of all it doesn’t need a power brick, instead suckling on your motherboard’s Firewire teat for all its power needs.

There are plenty of connection options too, with a total of four interface ports – one eSATA 3Gbits, two Firewire 800 and one USB 2.0. And just because it’s small, don’t think it’s slow – your backups will be done in no time with transfer speeds of up to 110MB/s.

Here at Stuff we’re big fans of, er, no fans, and the LaCie doesn’t disappoint. The Little Big Disk’s aluminium-finned heatsink design means there’s no need for a fan so you can get on with that important game of Notepad Invaders in peace.

A must for the budding photo- and videographers out there, this little backup drive is perfect for storing footage from your latest project. And weighing in at around 650g you’ll be able to take it with you everywhere.
