‘Best ever’ is usually an idle boast when slapped onto packets of soap powder, but if that’s how the boys at Sennheiser describe their latest in-ear ‘phones, we’re inclined to listen.

The all-metal CX 95s get new advanced mini-drive units, primed, we’re told, for smooth, faithful reproduction with a well-defined bass.

The physical shape’s changed too, with the cable angled to pipe cleanly to the waiting lug-hole with minimal tangle. As ever there’s a bunch of ear adaptors to ensure a snug fit, while the cable has been kept extra short to plug into in-line remotes, or the bundled 1m extension cord if called upon.

Spot them on the shelf now, complete with their own hard-shell case for travels.
