Get Ubuntu on your Galaxy Nexus

A new Linux-based OS will be throwing itself into the mix next year. Will you be tempted?

Ubuntu OS will be making its way onto smartphones in early 2014 – but Galaxy Nexus owners will be able to try it out in the next few weeks.

From our first glimpse, Ubuntu OS looks like a refreshing entrant to the smartphone party. With easy app switching and plenty of gestures and swipes to bring up menus and multitasking it certainly looks slick, and with an added dock for desktop shenanigans to boot, we’re looking forward to seeing it in action

Android users can revel in the fact that their devices should be able to run the Ubuntu OS with minimal fuss. Galaxy Nexus owners, meanwhile, will be able to jump aboard the Linux bandwagon even sooner, with a downloadable OS image available over the next few weeks.

Head on over to Ubuntu now for the full lowdown and a demo of the OS in action.
