Google Glass-compatible treadmill coming to CES 2014
It’s the wave of the future: have feedback from your workout sent straight to your eyeballs [updated with video]
Technogym will show off what might be the world’s first smart treadmill at CES 2014 next week. Thanks to its Unity tablet-style console, the treadmill can interact with apps and third-party devices – including Google Glass.
Real-time feedback
You might well wonder what the point of all this is. Well, the idea is to provide you with real-time feedback on your workout based on communication with third-party fitness trackers – as well as the ability to use entertainment apps (music to listen to and videos to watch while you’re running) and post your fitness stats to social media.
Unity is built on Android 4.0, and Technogym will gather compatible software, including MapMyFitness, RunKeeper and Withings, in its own app store for easy download.
