HTC Proto is actually Desire X

HTC's latest Android smartphone is outed as the Desire X

The rumoured HTC Proto has ditched its codename and been revealed as the HTC Desire X – an international version of the current China-only Desire V.

The Desire X, according to Hong Kong blog ePrice, will come packing a 1GHz processor, 5MP snapper, 4in 800×480 display and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. All very middle of the road, then – and not the exciting HTC Endeavour C2 super smartphone we’re itching for.

We’ll be reporting on HTC’s latest kit from IFA, so check back for all the news.
