iPad Mini 2 pics show Touch ID scanner and gold finish
Apple seems set to bring its fingerprint sensor to the next generation of tablets

The second generation of the iPad Mini will come with a Touch ID fingerprint scanner, if leaked shots of the device are anything to go by.
Serial Apple leaker Sonny Dickson tweeted two images of the iPad Mini 2 last night. These revealed not only the presence of a Touch ID-equipped Home button but a gold finish – another trait picked up from the iPhone 5S.
A7 power on board

Dickson tweeted that the tablet will also come in Space Grey and silver finishes, and that it will be powered by a 64-bit A7 processor with M7 motion coprocessor on board. All of which seems plausible.
The iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 are expected to be unveiled by Apple soon, possibly by mid-October.
