They’re working their way into every aspect of our homes and cars, so it was only a matter of time before our clothes started to become iPod compatible. We’ve already seen Apple’s flagship music player work its way into a partnership with Nike trainers, and now it’s on its way up your body – starting with your legs.

Levi’s RedWire DLX jeans have an iPod connection built onto the end of a red strap in a side pocket, which feeds a control pad and set of adjustable earphones. We presume the whole lot will be detachable for when they need a wash.

The control pad itself is mounted on the side of the front pocket, and along with what appears to be a spool for the headphone wire, is the only visible marker to give away the contents of these strides.

They come replete with white stitching – a nod to Apple’s favourite colour, perhaps – and will be available in Europe come November. We’re awaiting a call from the trendy chaps at Levi’s for exact dates and pricing, but in the States they’re going to set you back a whopping $250. A worthy price to pay for something a regular pocket will do just fine? You decide.
