The countdown continues and we’ve got our sleeping bags ready for a cold night outside HMV on 22 March. Thankfully once we’ve got our hands on a brand new, shiny PS3, we’ll have enough shrapnel left in our pockets to buy some games to play.Following the backwards-compatible debacle, Sony has made us smile again by announcing that first-party PS3 games will cost a mere £40. That means Motorstorm, Resistance: Fall of Man, Ridge Racer 7, Genji: Days of the Blade and Formula One Championship Edition can all be yours for just 40 notes each. With Xbox 360 games costing an extra 10 quid, Sony has made the prospect of purchasing a PS3 that bit more attractive. Once you’ve recovered from the initial £425 wallet dent of course. There will also be the chance to download games such as Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and BlastFactor from the PlayStation Network online service, costing between £2 and £7.If the third-party games follow suit, Sony may have just saved itself from the angry PSOne and PS2 mob. Now, where did we put those Thermos flasks?
