Sometimes it would take a bomb to wake us up in the morning – or perhaps just a couple of stiff espressos. This new coffee maker from Saeco cunningly combines both.Looking like a sea mine on stilts (always a winner) the innocuously named Etienne Louis delivers two cups of our favourite fun size caffeine loaded drink from the base of its explosive charge.Concocted from the imagination of Swiss Designer Carlo Borer (no doubt after one too many cups of Costa Rican) the main bulk is the all steel sphere with the spike and legs hewn from polished aluminium – no shoddy plastic here. And should espresso not be your bag there is a frothy coffee steam pipe for making less head blowing brews. Now, where did we see that armoured toaster?Essentials Saeco Etienne Louis Price: £POA On sale: Now Contact: CB Industries Related stories: LG’s hi-def fridge LG makes alco-dreams come true Dualit makes toast of DAB
