Samsung’s next Gear smartwatch will have a rotating bezel
Twisting time is (nearly) here
Samsung’s next iteration of the Gear might finally be the smartwatch to outsell them all, if reports are to be believed.
The latest news is that the new watch, the Gear A, will have a rotating, functional bezel ring that will complement its rounded design. More and more, it seems, smartwatches are evolving towards the look and design of traditional wristwatches. Or should that be “devolving”?
Tweets showing slides from Samsung’s Tizen event in India suggest that the ring will have a number of functions, from switching cards to zooming to gameplay control. It will have 24 “steps” of movement surrounding the face.
As for the specs, so far it’s likely to be running an Exynos 3472 dual-core processor, 4GB of storage, a 250mAH battery as well as a 360 x 460 display. All the details will be revealed on 13th August, the day of Samsung’s Unpacked 2015 event – also highly likely to feature the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Edge Plus and Galaxy Note 5.
