Sharp unveils 8K4K Super Hi-Vision LCD TV

Yes, those Ks mean thousands – we're not even kidding

If you find yourself looking at your run of the mill HD TV and wonder why it can’t be 16x clearer, make friends with Sharp who’s just announced an 8K4K LCD TV – so named after its ridiculous 7,680 x 4,320px resolution. Compare that to regular HD which gives you Formula One and footie in a measly 1,920 x 1,080px display and you’ve got the first ever TV with Super Hi-Vision (or Ultra High Definition Television).

Sharp is still batting around the prototype at this stage so we’ll keep you informed as to when you can get one of 82 inchers on your wall. But this is what TV will look like give or take a few years, and take it from us – it looks good.
