Siri powered iPod Shuffle headset incoming?
Apple has just been given the go on a patent for a headset that features earphones with a built-in Siri controlled iPod
Apple has just been granted a new patent for a Bluetooth headset with a built-in iPod Shuffle and – potentially – Siri voice controls. Even though it looks like a last generation shuffle bolted onto headphones in the picture.
In reality the headphones have a built-in microphone, which suggests the Shuffle may be less about shuffling blindly, and more about verbal selection of tracks using Siri style voice controls. The fact that it’s also Bluetooth enabled suggests that it could link to your phone for taking calls and streaming music – and you could even use it to control your Apple iTV when that launches. Now it just needs a screen like Google’s Project Glass and it’s perfect.
