Samsung’s Series 9 Notebook release date set for February 25

Sammy's ultraslim answer to the Macbook Air preens itself ahead of imminent sale date

Samsung has announced a release date for the Series 9 Notebook. The Macbook Air rival will be released on February 25, initially as a John Lewis exclusive.

The 13.3in Samsung Series 9, an update of last year’s model, was previewed at CES 2012. The Ultrabook boasts a nine-second boot time, a 128GB SSD and 10 hours of battery life. Weighing in at just 1.16kg, the Series 9 is powered by Intel’s Core i5 processor and HD Graphics 3000, and packs 4GB of RAM. Fans of sleek tech will also love the sand-blasted aluminium unibody that protects the laptop’s HD+ SuperBright Plus display.

During the CES launch Samsung confirmed a US$1400 price tag, but we can now confirm the UK launch price will be £1200. What price beauty, eh?
