Currently covering 50% of the smartphone market, this opens Spotify up to a whole new audience, especially Nokia users, and owners of phones like the Samsung i8910HD and Sony Ericsson’s Satio.
Similarly to the other Spotify mobile apps, you’ll need to be a premium subscriber for £9.99 a month to get your tunes on the go – but this will also give you access to all the other premium features, such as no adverts, premium-only albums, higher sound quality and the offline mode for tunes when you’re not connected to the net.
The interesting thing will be to see how this affects Nokia’s own Comes with Music download service – will Nokia see take-up of the service diminish as more users turn to Spotify?
