How to watch Glastonbury 2023 streams on demand, wherever you are
The biggest party on Earth is airing from 21 June
Glastonbury is all about hedonism, partying hard and catching a few legendary acts along the way. The three-day music weekend may have finished, but most performances from the four main stages are available via on demand streaming through Glastonbury’s official broadcaster, the BBC.
Here’s how to watch Glastonbury coverage from the comfort of your home.
Who played Glastonbury 2023?
Glastonbury 2023 took place Wednesday 21 June to Sunday 25 June. For the uninitiated, Glastonbury is a three day extravaganza of great music, legendary artists and more than a few muddy wellies. It spans over 100 stages, from tiny folk tents to the grandiose Pyramid Stage. This year, Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Elton John headlined in what he’s said will be his last ever live performance in the UK. We’ll believe that when we see it, though.
The BBC aired over 40 hours of coverage across its TV channels across the whole weekend with over 85 hours of tunes available through the BBC Sounds app, too. For the first time ever, the BBC streamed Pyramid Stage performances in British Sign Language.
Glastonbury is probably the only festival in the world where you’re equally as likely to bump into Ed Sheeran performing an acoustic set in a tiny tent, as you are stumbling into a late night goth rave. Thousands of bands and DJs made the pilgrimage to Glastonbury this year.
How can I watch?
US
To watch Glastonbury in the US, you’ll need to have access to BBC iPlayer which is where all the on demand streams are located. The only snag is that iPlayer is only available to UK viewers, as the broadcaster only has the rights to air its content in the UK.
The easiest way to get around that is by using a VPN to change your location to the UK, but not all VPN services will be able to navigate iPlayer’s geo-blocking. ExpressVPN is our pick for the most trusted and reliable VPN services out there. From $8.60/£6.70 per month, users can access the BBC archive of drama, documentaries, and of course the Glastonbury weekend. An ExpressVPN account also grants access to 11 channels across the BBC.
