Wireless wonder tapers to a tiny 11mm
Mechanical keyboards don’t have to dominate your desktop, y’know. The Corsair K100 Air says goodbye to chunky keycaps and a hefty base plates in favour of low-profile key switches and super-slim dimensions – without skimping on gamer-friendly features.
Just 11mm at its thinnest point, the K100 Air sits almost flat to a desk, with an aluminium base to keep the whole thing stiff while you’re bashing away at the keys. The switches are Cherry MX Ultra Low Profile, which should be satisfyingly clacky and deliver tactile feedback without needing loads of key travel.
The K100 Air comes with Corsair’s Slipstream wireless tech to keep cable clutter to a minimum, and there’s built-in Bluetooth, for quick swapping between multiple devices. A wired mode is on tap if you demand an uninterrupted connection, with lightning-fast 8000Hz polling.
Naturally it’s packing more LED lights than a Christmas tree, with fully customisable RGB backlighting through Corsair’s iCue software suite. The firm reckons the built-in battery is good for 50 hours per charge with all the lights on, or as much as 200 hours if you’re happy to play in the dark.
Corsair keyboard staples like a volume roller and dedicated multimedia keys make an appearance, along with four programmable macro keys. Built-in memory lets you store up to 50 lighting and key profiles directly on the keyboard.
The Corsair K100 Air is going on sale in the UK from the 4th of October. There’s no word yet on prices, but you can sign up for info on the official Corsair website.
