Android getting native Facebook app very soon?

Anonymous tipster says an official native app for the social network will appear on Android devices soon

An anonymous source, apparently from within Facebook, has tipped off Engadget that the social network is in the final throes of testing a native Android app that will appear by default on all new devices running Google’s OS.

Facebook’s own official app has long been regarded as a bit of a stinker, pushing users towards third-party apps like Friend Me. If the tipster is correct, Facebook has a chance to exorcise some ghosts and deliver an experience and design that befits its status. We’ll keep you posted.
