AR.Drone pilot app launches on Android Market

Parrot's AR.Drone takes off on Android phones

It’s a good week for Android users previously seething with envy as their iPhone-toting mates flew around Parrot AR.Drone quadricopters – the AR.FreeFlight app has just gone live on Android Market.

The free app does everything the iOS app does – including controlling your AR.Drone over Wi-Fi from up to 50 meters away and streaming live footage taken by the quadricopter’s two video cameras to your Android phone or tablet. Plus look out for augmented reality games for the AR Drone now developers have their hands on the kit they need to build them. There is the small matter of the £250 you’ll need for the AR Drone itself, but at least the app’s free…
