Google Wave breaks as the big G axes seven products in spring clean

Google has given Google Wave the boot – along with six other products – as part of a “spring cleaning” effort. The collaboration and communication tool was launched in 2009, but didn’t take off among users. It will become read-only from January 31 –though users will be able to export existing Waves as PDFs – before shutting down completely on April 30.

Also being axed in the Great Google Cull are bookmarks-sharing feature Google Bookmarks Lists, social website plug-in Google Friend Connect, offline viewing feature Google Gears, Google Search Timeline, collaborative  tool Knol and renewable energy initiative RE

Did you ever use Google Wave? Are you one of those mourning its passing? Pen your eulogy below, or share your acute feelings of loss with us on Twitter.
