We thought we’d had our hopes dashed of a UK Zune ever seeing 2007 but one of Microsoft’s many PR gurus has let slip the first half-official confirmation that the Zune will be coming here this year. While laying off any of the heavy specifics – or any specifics at all really – the rep told the peeps at WordPress that, ‘you can expect an update later this year prior to the holiday season.’ That’s American for, ‘before Christmas’, in case you were wondering.‘Update? What sort of update,’ we hear you cry. Well, the man promised new features, sizes, styles, price points and ‘new geographic markets’.Turn that into English and you’ve almost got evidence that the much rumoured 80GB Scorpio model and flash-based Draco will be arriving by the year end with, hopefully, some improved Wi-Fi features. And unless they’re talking about Greenland and Micronesia, those new markets have to mean the UK and Europe, don’t they? Time to re-draft that Christmas list.Essentials Microsoft Zune Price: £TBA On sale: TBA (Now in US) Contact: Microsoft Related stories: Flash Zune rumours – enter the Draco No Zune anytime soon Zune sells a zillion – almost
