New smartphone incoming? Motorola has an “exciting announcement” to make this week
Will Moto's mystery device steal Samsung and HTC's Mobile World Congress thunder?
Motorola doesn’t seem like one to hide in the shadows; the telecommunications company has let the world know that it’s going to make “an exciting announcement” this Wednesday, 25th February.
Yes, that’s just days before MWC 2015 (which will be held from 2nd to 5th March in Barcelona), marking the possibility that whatever the company is intending to launch might just steal the thunder from the likes of Samsung and HTC.
Motorola’s sent out a note to the press, suggesting that they’ll each receive a mystery box on that day. What will be in the package is still unknown, but according to Motorola, “everything you need fits inside one box”. That could be an invite to Motorola’s MWC 2015 event, along with some information to tease us or give us a glimpse of what it might possibly launch at the event.
Could it be the new Moto device which leaked on testing site Geekbench? If it is, then we might be seeing the unveiling of a revamped Moto E, or an upgraded version of the second-gen Moto G smartphone. Either way, the unit is believed to house a 64-bit quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU that can run up to 1.4GHz.
A second-gen Moto 360?
On the other hand, it could also be a successor to the Moto 360 – one of the most popular smartwatches in the market.
It has been a while since we saw a spectacular flagship from Motorola, so we can’t wait for this “exciting announcement” to learn about what’s to come. Stay tuned for more.
