Sanyo unfolds world’s smallest HD camcorder

Other small HD camcorders there may be but Sanyo just keeps on breaking its own world’s smallest record.Latest to wear the crown is the HD700 that shoots 720p to standard SD or super-sized SDHC cards. It’s lost 10 per cent of the weight of the HD2 and 16% of the bulk but at the same time has had its optical zoom cut from a standard 10x to an undersized 5x.Baby brother to the new 1080i HD1000 it gets the same 2.7in widescreen upgrade and shares the same design tweak that keeps the lens level when mounted on a tripod – one of the flaws of its skywards pointing predecessors.And leave the camera at home because it also sports a 7.1MP camera mode with face detection and a whopping ISO 3200 low-light mode to give the built-in flash a rest.Japan’s getting the first batch next month in red (pictured), brown and silver.
