The Guardian and Observer newspapers have been given a digital makeover and are available to download for Amazon’s Kindle. The launch of the optimised editions has been marked with a free 14-day free trial, after which the price shoots up to a £9.99 monthly subscription fee – that works out to 33p per issue. The optimised e-reader editions, which promise “all your favourite content,” sit alongside the Times, which is already available to download from Amazon’s ever-growing digital library.
