Promoted: The ZTE Axon Elite 4K Challenge
What’s better than standard definition? HD, of course. What’s better than that? Eyeball-busting, pixel-peeping, detail-demanding 4K, naturally

You can feast your eyes on 4K on your computer, your tablet and your TV, and high-end phones are getting in on the act as well.
The ZTE Axon Elite is precisely such a phone: its powerful Snapdragon processor, 3GB of RAM and 13-megapixel dual rear-facing cameras allow it to shoot incredibly detailed 4K video to its spacious 32GB of internal memory which can be expanded to an extra 128GB with a microSD card.
But what to shoot? The world’s your oyster, but if you’re stuck for inspiration, have we ever got a list for you. Events, places and people worldwide that are crying out to be lavished in gorgeous 4K glory.
La Tomatina
![La Tomatina](https://dev.stuff.tv/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/08/zte_4k_tomatoes.jpg)
You’ll need a waterproof case for this one. La Tomatina has taken place in Buñol, near Valencia, for the past 70 years, and is a food fight like no other. Up to 40,000 people from all over the world descend on the small town each year. Their aim: to chuck 150 tonnes of tomatoes at each other. The reasons have been largely lost to the abandoned allotment of time, and there isn’t really a winner except, presumably, for the town’s launderettes.
Our recommendation: keep moving, keep shooting, enjoy the mayhem and try not to lose your phone in the world’s largest passata lake.
Film your drive
![Film your drive](https://dev.stuff.tv/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/08/zte_4k_driving.jpg)
Getting hold of a windscreen mount for a smartphone camera is a great idea, but laboriously filming your drive to work every day will yield nothing but tedious footage (though it could help if you come a cropper). For something a bit more interesting, head to one of the UK’s track days.
World-famous tracks such as Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Silverstone and Bedford Autodrome are yours for the day from around £150. You supply your own motor and can spend the day blasting around some of the UK’s finest strips of tarmac, speed-camera-free.
Make a (decent) timelapse
![Make a (decent) timelapse](https://dev.stuff.tv/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/08/zte_4k_timelapse.jpg)
You’ll need to survive a bit of jetlag for this one: head to Phoenix, Arizona, jump in a car and make the four hour drive to the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. You’ll be rewarded by one of the world’s finest views: from your vantage point, over a mile above sea level, you’ll be able to see almost all the way back down (the Grand Canyon is over a mile deep at points).
Leave your visit till towards sunset and you’ll see intense colours: perfect for popping up a sturdy tripod and leaving your Axon Elite to record 4K footage for an hour or so.
Use a timelapse app to speed things up and you could come away with something truly spectacular.
Dive, dive, dive
![Dive, dive, dive](https://dev.stuff.tv/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/08/zte_4k_scuba.jpg)
Dive photography is very, very difficult. Getting decent footage while you’re snorkelling is a totally different kettle of fish (sorry). You’re closer to the surface, so you don’t need a set of lights, and you don’t need to do complicated scuba jobs, like managing your buoyancy, at the same time as trying to keep Nemo and co in the frame.
A waterproof pouch with a decent window for the Axon Elite’s camera will set you back less than £50, and there are plenty of good snorkelling spots within a few hours of Europe: Turkey, Egypt, Croatia and Malta all offer top sea life.
For the ultimate adventure, settle in for the 30-hour journey to Tawau in eastern Borneo, home to some of the very best snorkelling and diving on the planet.
