Ah, the humble watch; the perfect place to shove an extra screen for your convenience. This year’s Amazon Prime Day sale has seen a few smartwatch deals for shoppers to take advantage of. And you can score big discounts on Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 – they’re some of the best you’ll find.
Currently, you can score a rather tasty 31% off the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5. For £199, you can bag the standard 4mm Galaxy Watch 5 rather than its £289 retail price. On Amazon US, it’s even less at $170 – a 45% discount from $310. If you’re after the LTE version, you’ll get a slightly smaller discount. It’s going for 26% off at £264 rather than £339, or for $246 rather than $360. There’s no discount on the smaller 40mm model on Amazon UK, but there is in the US. You can grab the 40mm Galaxy Watch 5 for $160 – a 43%/$120 saving from $280. Or, the LTE model will set you back $230 at 30% off.
With the Galaxy Watch 5, you’ll get Wear OS – the software collaboration of Google and Samsung. On it, you’ll find Bixby, Samsung Pay, and the Play Store to install apps and watch faces. There are basic fitness features like step-tracking and workout-recording. But, there are also more advanced fitness features, such as sleep tracking and body composition. The Always On mode brings an always-on display to the smartwatch.
Don’t need the latest features? Despite being a year old and replaced by the Galaxy Watch 5, the Watch 4 series is still a solid option. We gave the Classic model four stars out of five in our review, so you know it’s a solid option.
On Amazon UK, you’ll score the 40mm Bluetooth Galaxy Watch 4 model for £150 – a 25%/£50 reduction during the savings event. Amazon US has the smartwatch for $151, saving you 24%/$49. The LTE model isn’t discounted this time around. You can also score the 46mm Galaxy Watch 4 Classic for £169 – an impressive 54%/£200 reduction from retail price. On Amazon US, it’s down to $190, saving you 50%/$200. If you want the LTE model, that’s 44%/£182 off at £227.
Functionality wise, the two watches are pretty similar. The biggest difference lies in a few extra sensors crammed into the newer Galaxy Watch 5. You’ll also find a rotating bezel on the Watch 4 Classic, for some physical interaction. Whichever model you decide to go for, you’ll still be bagging yourself a bargain!
