The Raybaby sleep monitor is a better parent than you

Unconditional love sold separately…

Looks a little menacing, huh? In fact, Raybaby is quite the opposite – a proper do-gooder with its silicon heart in the right place. It’s a baby sleep monitor that tracks your little one’s breathing from afar using ultrasound-like tech that promises 98% accuracy. It’ll also send you notifications when your baby shows signs of illness, alerts you when they wake up or roll over, and serves up real-time video and audio monitoring. Its cute bobbly head helped it to smash through its Kickstarter target, and it’s shamelessly jumped over to Indiegogo for further pre-orders, from US$179.

About

Mark's first review for Stuff was the Nokia N-Gage in 2004. Luckily, his career lasted a little longer than the taco phone, and he's been trying to figure out how gadgets fit back into their boxes ever since. While his 'Extreme Mark Wilson' persona was retired following a Microsoft skydiving incident, this means he can often be spotted in the wilds of South West London testing action cams, drones and smartwatches, and occasionally cursing at them.

Areas of expertise

Smart home tech, cameras, wearables and obscure gadgets from the early 2000s.
