MWC 2023: all the latest from the global mobile tech show

MWC 2023 is nearly upon us - here's what to expect from Mobile World Congress - Barcelona's mobile tech expo

Stuff at MWC 2023

It’s phone time! This week we’ve been turning our full attention to the world of mobile in the form of Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress show, aka MWC 2023.

Last year some companies still decided not to venture to MWC due to Covid concerns but there has been a bounceback in terms of who is at the show. As with CES 2023 though, there is a little bit of a reduced presence as a hangover from those (even) leaner times.

As in previous years, some companies preferred separate launch events. Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series has already been launched, as has the OnePlus 11 (though both companies were present and correct at the show). We’re certainly a long way from the times a decade or so ago when most new flagship phones would be launched at the show.

MWC is always a bit of a weird hybrid of a show since not only are there a bunch of product announcements, but it’s also where the mobile industry goes to do business. That means there are quite a lot of tedious announcements too! That’s where we come in, to cut through the noise and bring you the really great launches which is what we’re doing on this very page.
